Introduction of The Festival
Ine Festival | Kyoto Pref |
---|
Yasakajinja Saireifunayatai Gyoji

This is an event that has been continued for more than 300 years. On the eve of the festival vigil, a boat with paper lanterns hung overhead crosses the Ine Bay and at the annual celebration, a sairei-sen (a ritual boat) and a kagura-sen (a Shinto music and dance performance boat) sail on the Ine Bay. A sword-waving performance is dedicated to the deity of the Yasaka Shrine. This festival is called “”a Gion festival at sea”” since visitors can enjoy food stalls on boats.
