Nagiri-no Waraji-hiki
This Shinto event is said to be related to the legend of Dandarabocchi (or Daidarabocchi), which is a mythological giant. The festival imitates the old story about village people making a fuge Waraji (straw sandal) to freighten a Dandarabocchi and make it go away.
