Introduction of The Festival

Ise Daikagura Mie Pref

Ise Kagura is a sacred music and dance performance at Ise Jingu. In the Edo era (1603-1857 A.D.), because there were many people who could not visit Ise Jingu, street performers of Ise Kagura were sent to various places in western Japan. They got together at Masuda Jinja once a year when they played all music, which is called Ise Daikagura.
