Almost all Shishimai (lion dance) in Kobe City is Kagura style, a form of music and dances dedicated to Shinto deities. Kagura style lion dances visit houses in the village for exorcism and purification, which is considered to be originated from Ise dai-kagura, lion dances for dai-kagura plays dedicated to Ise-jingu Shrine.
