Suwa Jinja Hashira Matsuri
The purpose of the festival is to symbolically renew the Suwa Jinja once every six years. Sacred cedar trees (four logs) are cut down and built onto the four corners of the shrine’s main hall after going around the town carried by hundreds of young men.
