Noyori-no-onda

The festival features a rice planting ritual dedicated to the Shirayama Shrine. They dance imitating the farming process from tilling and padding rice field to rice transplantation. For example, female dancers imitate planting rice seeds and male dancers pray for rain making by using umbrellas. In addition kids interrupt adults’ work in a humorous manner.
