Shimomura-no-shishimai

The festival features Shishimai (Kylin lion dance) dedicated to the Karitahime Shrine. A Kylin lion (performed by two dancers) dances several songs such as Turugi-no-mai (sword dance), Kagura-no-mai (dance of Ise type) and O-no-mai (king’s dance). They are learned from Mr.Kichinojo Oshishiki, a dance master in Ise Jingu in 1775.
