Introduction of The Festival
Danshichi Odori | Wakayama Pref |
---|
This is a Bon dance performed by three people, which is woven from the popular Danshichi story in the Edo period (1603 – 1867 A.D.). The story is about daughters of Yotaro, killed by Danshichi (a dishonest administrator), revenging on him 13 years later. The dance has been handed down in the Okazaki area in the Kansai region.
