Introduction of The Festival

Imayama Nosonbutai Tokushima Pref

Awa Ningyo-joruri puppet play in Nosonbutai theater

In 2006, the theater was rebuilt close to the original configuration for the first time in seventy years. It is a Kasetsushiki-Funazoko-Butai type, which is rare in Japan. Normally, the stage is flat with 7.2 meters width and 5.4 meters depth. At a time of Ningyo Joruri play, it creates Funazoko (slightly lower place from the stage), where the puppeteers operate.
